Colorado - USA

After a super long flight with two transfers, I made it to a town in Colorado called Durango.

I stayed with a local family that I had never met before and they welcomed me so kindly from the first minute I arrived. Their home was on a beautiful ten acre property with views of the snow capped La Plata mountains.

I learnt how to clean and prepare the horse stalls in the barn and watched a family of foxes roam around the backyard every morning.

One particular day, Durango had an unexpected snow fall and Tammy, the lady who I stayed with, loaded up her horse and drove me up to the mountains so I could capture images of her horse amongst the pine trees in the snow.

However, amongst the excitement and the snow falling we forgot to bring the horse's bridal, but never the less we just used the lead rope and the scene was incredible. I had never seen snow falling from the sky before so taking photos was quite challenging.

I can't wait to create some art from this adventure and tell Tammy's story.
