FAQs Art by Benzie

Here we'll cover our most-asked questions from the art to shipping and how to commission Benzie. For simplicity sake, we will refer to limited-edition replica giclée prints as “prints” in the below section. Benzie’s art is also available to be reproduced on canvas upon special request. For all inquiries, please refer to the contact form.

What is a limited-edition replica giclée print? Replicas are artist-approved giclée prints with inherent value and appreciation potential. They are individually produced, numbered, and signed by the artist. These giclée prints are on 100% cotton archival media, and all materials are archivally handled and cured.

When is a print available to purchase? Generally, limited-edition replicas are available for purchase on this web store. Commissioned pieces may not be available as a replica, it depends on the terms of agreement with a buyer. In other words, there may be buyers who request that their original not be reproduced.

What is a limited edition? The number of prints are set by the artist, and are sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

Will you sell out? Limited-editions tend to sell out quickly because there is a set number, which the artist will not exceed. If you see something you like, don’t wait

What size are the prints? The sizes are A3 (smaller: 11.7” x 16.5”), A2 (mid-sized: 16.5” x 23.4”) , A1 (larger: 23.4” x 33.1”). Larger prints are available upon request as a custom order. See contact form.

How much do the prints cost? Prices vary by size and sometimes by subject.
Price structure is as follows:

A3 $150.00
A2 $220.00
A1 $320.00

Can I purchase older edition prints? No, past print editions are not available for purchase. However, a person who owns a replica print may choose to arrange for the sale of the piece that they own.

How many prints can I order? As many as are available. Inventory is set on the website, so if you try to order a quantity that unable, then you won’t be able to purchase. However, please coordinate if you are looking to make a high-volume purchase. See contact form to engage in a discussion about high volume order.

Are the prints signed and numbered? Yes, prints are signed, numbered, and for canvas prints, they are embossed in the corner. Canvas are only available upon request as a custom order. See contact form to discuss. They are also assigned a number on the back.

How should I frame my new paper print?
It is best to choose all archival materials and UV protective glazing acrylic or glass when framing. If you choose not to match your print, then we suggest adding a spacer between the print and the glazing to allow the print to breathe. That way moisture doesn't collect. It is best to wait until you have the print before heading to your local frame shop
